The law firm of Burch, George & Germany is proud to offer three scholarships to deserving students in Oklahoma who write compelling essays addressing the texting and driving ban in Oklahoma.

The following are answers to questions that you may have about the contest:

I am a member of the Class of 2016 at my high school. Am I eligible?

Yes, high school seniors in the class of 2016 enrolled in high schools in Oklahoma are eligible to compete for the scholarships as well as members of the class of 2017. Students of two-year and four-year colleges and universities in Oklahoma are also eligible. If you are under the age of 18, you will need to provide proof of parental consent with your scholarship application.

I am an international student. Am I eligible?

No, international students are not eligible.

I plan to attend a two-year community college. Am I eligible?

Yes, students of two-year community colleges are eligible.

Who selects the winners?

A scholarship selection committee will choose the three scholarship winners based on the originality and creativity in the essays.

Why do I need to include a digital photo of myself?

We want to include photos of the writers of the essays when we announce the scholarship recipients.

Do I need to mail or email my essay?

Applicants should email the essay, photo, name, school, and phone number to scholarship@burchgeorgestg.wpengine.com.

What happens to my essay?

Burch George & Germany will have the right to use the essay and the scholarship recipient’s photo for marketing purposes.
